Both programs are subject to a ban on double funding: the same service cannot be funded twice. Concept (BAFA) and implementation (MID) must be clearly separate measures. MID digitalization is awarded through a monthly lottery procedure, requires a market-ready digital product and provides for a minimum grant of €4,000. A prerequisite for BAFA funding is a registered consultant. Eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis; a funding commitment is not guaranteed. As of 2026, all information without guarantee.
